Every January, car enthusiasts from around the world flock to Makuhari Messe in Chiba for one of the most celebrated automotive events in existence: Tokyo Auto Salon (TAS). First held in 1983, TAS has grown into a massive showcase of Japan’s unique car culture—bringing together cutting-edge tuning houses, legendary brands, and aftermarket innovators under one roof. Over the years, it has become a mecca for fans of JDM cars, custom builds, and motorsports, with tens of thousands of attendees filling the venue across three exciting days.
The scale of the show is unmatched, with sprawling halls packed full of vendor booths, demo cars, and stage events highlighting the creativity and passion that drive Japan’s tuning scene. Among the most iconic names you’ll always find is RE-Amemiya, the rotary specialists from Chiba who have consistently wowed crowds with their wild Mazda RX-7 and RX-8 builds. Their blend of performance engineering and artistic bodywork represents everything TAS is about: pushing boundaries while honoring heritage. Seeing their cars up close is reason enough for many to attend.

This January 9-11, 2026, the excitement returns, and the Gunsai team will be right there in the middle of it all. We’ll be attending Tokyo Auto Salon to capture the sights, stories, and standout builds that define this one-of-a-kind show. Stay tuned as we bring TAS 2026 to you through our lens—you won’t want to miss the experience we’re preparing to share.
